Wi-Fi Use Agreement
Wi-Fi do's and dont's
We are excited to have you participate in this event and make the most out of
your experience. In order to ensure a positive and responsible use of the open Wi-Fi platform
provided during the event, we kindly ask all participants to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Respect the Network: The Wi-Fi provided during the Hackathon is generously provided by
the venue. Please avoid activities that could overload or disrupt the network, such as large
file downloads or excessive streaming. Using AI tools for your project is expected at
GoSHackathon and won’t be treated as network abuse.
2. Legal and Ethical Use: Do not use the Wi-Fi network for any illegal or unethical activities,
including but not limited to hacking, unauthorised access to systems, distribution of
malware, or any other malicious activities. Violation of this rule will result in immediate
disqualification and may also lead to legal consequences.
3. Protect Your Devices: It is your responsibility to ensure that your devices are adequately
protected with up-to-date antivirus software and security measures. The event organisers
will not be held responsible for any security breaches or damages to your devices.
4. Data Privacy and Security: Exercise caution when sharing sensitive information over the Wi-Fi
network. Avoid transmitting personal, financial or confidential data.
5. No Network Interference: Participants should not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the
Wi-Fi network, other participants’ connections, or event infrastructure — including the
connectivity required for event technology such as Reachy robots. Violation of this rule will
result in immediate disqualification.
6. Respect the Staff and Volunteers: The Hackathon is taking place at a venue that has its own
IT policies and staff. Respect staff and GoSH volunteers and follow all instructions provided
by the venue staff.
7. Reporting Security Issues: If you discover any security vulnerabilities or network-related
concerns, please promptly report them to the event volunteers or staff.
8. No Illegal Software: Do not use or distribute any pirated or illegally obtained software or
copyrighted materials over the event Wi-Fi.
9. Use of VPNs and Proxies: VPNs and proxies are not permitted for general use during the
event. If you need one for a specific development purpose, check with a GoSH volunteer or
mentor first — legitimate dev use is welcomed, this is just so we know what’s running on the
network.
10. Responsible Online Behaviour: Engage in polite and respectful online communication with
other participants and the GoSH social media platforms. AI tools must be used for event
purposes only, and not to access or generate content that is inappropriate, offensive or
unsafe. Any form of harassment, offensive language, or disruptive behaviour will result in
immediate disqualification.
11. No Unauthorised Network Routers: Participants are not allowed to set up their own Wi-Fi
routers, access points, or other network devices. Violation of this rule will result in
immediate disqualification.
By participating in the GoSHackathon, you agree to abide by these guidelines and ensure responsible
and ethical behaviour while enjoying the benefits of the provided network. The event organisers
reserve the right to take appropriate actions if any person or team is in violation of the agreement.
