Mandurah CoderDojo

Where GoSH was Born

Welcome to Mandurah CoderDojo! We are a free coding and tech club for neurodivergent adolescents (ninjas) in the Peel region. We run on Saturdays 10am-12pm during school terms and are part of Curtin University's Autism Academy of Software Quality Assurance (AASQA).

Our Coder Dojo is 100% strengths-based (this means we support and encourage each individual positively and do our best to create an environment suitable to each ninja's needs). Ninjas are supported by mentors who are all neurodivergent too! Please read the FAQs below for more information.

Wongy (Michelle Wong) is the club coordinator and we'd love to welcome your ninja. We understand anxiety and change, and invite you to bring your ninja along for a look. Please arrange this with Wongy before visiting.

How CoderDojo led to GoSH

The GoSHackathon grew from what we observed through years of Saturday coding club: young people often demonstrate extraordinary capability when they are given different ways to think, build, test and create. We wanted to build an inclusive platform that allows young people to flex their capabilities beyond a traditional classroom setting or STEM competition.GoSH started in Mandurah in 2023 and now covers 3 regions with over 4,000 participants to date.
