GoSH acknowledges the power of storytelling and cultural significance of Aboriginal art. This competition aims to showcase the talent of the next generation of Aboriginal young people, respectfully and with deserved recognition. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and to the future generation of young leaders.

Promoter
1.1 This competition is conducted by Disruptive Force Ltd (GoSHackathon) (“GoSH”). Disruptive Force is a Not-For-Profit entity operating under a charitable constitution. ABN: 74 685 316 447. http://www.disruptiveforce.org
Eligibility
2.1 Entry is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people.
2.3 Entrants must comply with all entry requirements to be eligible.
Purpose
3.1 The purpose of this competition is to remain youth-led and aligned with regional young people.
3.2 The competition aims to combine youth culture with traditional Aboriginal artistic styles in a respectful and innovative format.
Entry Requirements
4.1 Entries that do not meet these requirements will be deemed ineligible:

Include the word “GoSH” prominently above or beside the GoSH Derpy Cat

Unique artwork to be completed within the Derpy Cat outline
-
Be designed in one colour only
-
Be suitable for reproduction on T-Shirts for young people
4.2 Design considerations:

Thick, bold lines are required for reproduction on T-Shirts (no lines thinner than the Derpy cat mouth will be eligible)

Consider broader meaning of symbols and gestures before submitting (no offensive or disrespectful submissions will be eligible).
Judging
5.1 Entries will be judged by three judges who have no connection with the young people entering the competition. Judges include an Aboriginal young person (considering appeal to youth), an Aboriginal adult (considering use and representation of Aboriginal art), and a representative of GoSH (considering alignment with GoSH vision as leaders in youth innovation).
5.2 The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prize
6.1 One (1) winning entrant will receive a $500 gift card (not redeemable for cash) to an individual retailer relevant to the interests of the winner (for example Rebel Sport, JB-Hi Fi, Officeworks, Jaycar). The following gift cards will not be permitted: Multi-retailer cards including Coles Myer and Amazon, VISA, EFTPOS.
6.2 The prize is explicitly acknowledged as a licensing fee for use of the winning artwork.
6.3 The winner will be required to sign a formal licensing agreement with GoSH prior to receiving voucher.
Intellectual Property (IP & Licensing
7.1 All entrants retain IP ownership of their original artwork.
7.2 By entering the competition, all entrants grant GoSH a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display (not reproduce) submitted artwork. This may include:

Entries displayed at GoSH events,

Images of entry display on online platforms

Presentations in alignment with the purpose of GoSH to promote pathways and opportunities for underrepresented young people and celebrate regional innovation
7.3 Submitted entries will not be reproduced for commercial purposes
7.4 The winning entrant agrees to grant GoSH a licence to reproduce, publish, and use the artwork for GoSH-related purposes, including but not limited to merchandise, marketing, and events, as outlined in a separate licensing agreement.
Attribution & Privacy
8.1 GoSH will not display the name of the entrants:

On reproduced merchandise (without explicit written permission from the winner)

In public displays of entries (e.g. picture walls, exhibitions)

On any media platforms (without explicit written permission of the entrant)
8.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with GoSH’s privacy obligations.
General Conditions
10.1 Entries close Monday March 30. Winners announced Thursday April 2 and notified via adult contact details provided on entry form.

10.3 GoSH reserves the right to:
